Over several years we have used A Degree Above for both personal and business purposes to replace/install/modify and troubleshoot heating and air issues. We have experienced professional, competent and timely work. We have found A Degree Above to be fair in their pricing and above all we could not have expected more complete and professional work.
The work is always completed on time and with regard to ducting modifications the work surpasses normal expectations. Each job is thoroughly analyzed for sizing of equipment which includes the most practical and functional installation. Duct work is fabricated to a high degree and attention to aesthetics is always considered.
Keith takes the time to explain operation issues such as equipment and thermostat function.

I am not a relative or social friend but a single/senior woman, who first had Keith put a galvanized metal cap on my 1912 bungalow chimney over 15 years ago. Because I was so impressed with Keith and his professionalism, that minor repair progressed to Keith replacing 7 furnaces in revenue properties, as well as my own furnace and do furnace inspections and repairs when required.
As a “control freak” landlady, I would have no hesitation giving spare keys to Keith so he could enter occupied rental properties when the tenants aren’t home and with me not present. Through my 17 years as a landlady, I have dealt with numerous contractors, repairmen and residence cleaners, and there are only 2 that I would refer.

My spouse and I recently purchased our first home and decided to go all in and renovate our 1950’s vibe into a modern masterpiece. Keith was the long time HVAC family contact. He came to the house to inspect and quote, and he was wonderful, approachable and organized. He was efficient, to the point and he identified what we need to update and change. He had a big job of removing the original 1958 horizontal furnace from our crawl space and updating with a new high efficiency furnace and AC system.
Additionally, I refused to have ceiling venting in the basement, which is a quite common practice today. Keith brainstormed a brilliant solution of dropping one of the double vents upstairs down the wall, so we would have the vent coming out of the base of the wall. A few months after the finished install, I had a few questions in regards to the system. Keith came the very next day and inspected and clarified. We would recommend Keith to anyone for their HVAC systems!!

I have been a customer for over 15 years. In both of the houses I have lived in I had A Degree Above install my AC units and service other heating and cooling issues. Keith always provides great service and advice on what my specific heating or cooling needs are, and how to fit it in a budget. In terms of workmanship, A Degree Above is second to none. For example, my current house was constructed from ground-up through a building company. We had to use their tradespeople for the entire building process, including heating. I didn’t install the AC units right away, since I decided to get that done by Keith after possession. There was a huge difference in the quality between the heating and the AC installations. The heating company did a decent job installing the furnaces, but it just seemed a bit more “amateurish”. The duct work, wiring and sealing was a lot cleaner on the post-possession AC installation done by A Degree Above. There has never been a doubt of the quality of service provided by Keith, that’s why I will always be a return customer.

I have used A Degree Above for furnace installations twice in two different houses. Both situations were older houses with limited space and old house issues. Both times the installation was done on the promised schedule, quickly and tidily including inspection or other issues. If I ever needed a furnace installed again A Degree Above would be my first call.

Punctuality and reliability are two traits unfortunately missing in most tradesmen in Calgary. That was neither the case or experience we had in dealing with A Degree Above. We arranged an appointment for a quote, Keith showed up as arranged, a novelty in my recent experiences. He then did a thorough job of explaining our various options in a furnace and hot water tank replacement. There was no upsell pressure and he was very candid on what he believed were the best value options. After he left us with a quote, we researched the items he recommended. His descriptions on pros and cons were accurate with other reviews we found, and as a bonus we realized his pricing was very competitive. We arranged an install time, the work started the minute it was supposed to and was completed the next day as promised. The quality of work was fantastic, the work area after he left was cleaner than when he started, and the price was exactly what was quoted. Keith was the home run of trades for us, punctual, reliable, thorough and cost competitive. The guy just flat out works – no smoke break, no disappearing for parts, he is a true professional.
I have no qualms about recommending Keith, thank you for being fair with us.

I am updating my old review to let everyone know how professional Keith is and has always been. On “Saturday”, March 28, 2020, I received a phone call from one of my tenants at 6:00 a.m., that his furnace had stopped heating in the minus degree weather. After calling on Keith for help, for almost 20 years, as always, even during the Covid-19 Pandemic, he came to my rescue and had the tenant’s furnace repaired and heating again by noon. In my 71 years, I have found that with most Companies, service fades but not with Keith and A Degree Above Heating & Air Ltd. Mary P.
